It’s been a busy few weeks for Coquette. We had a wedding at the Hyatt at Fisherman’s Wharf and then a stylish and fabulous 60th birthday party. This weekend, we have a birthday party for a special little girl who is turning one. This one has been especially fun to plan because we’ve been handed the reins and just been told to make it cute and girly. I think we’ve definitely accomplished our goal. We’ve been personalizing the heck out of this party – plastering her name everywhere. Mommy even told me she’s ordered matching outfits for her and the birthday girl. I can’t wait to see!
In the meantime …

- Vanity Fair just released their Annual International Best Dressed List. For the fourth year in a row, the First Lady is in the top of the pack – and deservedly so. We here at Coquettish are big fans of her colorful and modern wardrobe. She mixes household brands like JCrew and Gap with high-end designers Moschino and Jason Wu. She’s showing women everywhere that it’s not all about suits and that women can look professional without looking stuffy. Check out http://mrs-o.org/ to follow the fashion choices of the First Lady. (It’s definitely one of my favorite sites to visit.)

- In honor of Chelsea Clinton’s recent nuptials, CNN put together a list of the Top 10 Best Celebrity Brides. All the dresses are definitely iconic in their own way. Do you agree with their picks?
- Does being a bride just automatically make us a bridezilla?? Why do women get so caught up in the hype of wedding planning and lose focus on what the day is really about? An interesting viewpoint (from a non-bride) on why this is.
- Project Runway Runner Up Carol Hannah Whitfield recently launched her own bridal line. The collection is both fresh and fun and very feminine. Along with the wedding gowns, she has a small collection of Bridesmaid dresses perfect if you’re trying to achieve the mix-n-match look. The complete collection can be found on her website.
- Are Designer Sunglasses worth the high price tag? Is there really a difference between Gucci and the pair at the counter at Walgreens?
- Ok ladies (and gents), fess up. Who planned their wedding on company time?? According to this Forbes article, a great majority of brides do at least a little wedding planning between 9-5pm.
We hope you all have a Coquettishly fabulous weekend. Check back next week for photos and a recap of the fabulous 60th party and the 1st birthday party.
