High school sweethearts Miyoung and Elmer tied the knot on July 4th. As Miyoung mentioned in her personal vows, they chose a day of independence to give up their own and start their lives together as husband and wife. They showcased their culture throughout the day – from the Korean desserts to donning traditional Chinese and Korean clothing.

The day began with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony at Elmer’s parent’s house where our lovely bride wore a gorgeous red cheong sam (Chinese dress).
The festivities then moved to Casa de la Vista for the ceremony and recepetion. The bridesmaids were clad in flirty pink dresses and printed pumps. The groomsmen were dapper in black tuxedos, and we can’t forget the pretty, but cool like a dude, Groomswoman! She kept her attire in line with the men and wore a simple black strapless dress.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father to “Here Comes Your Man” by the Pixies. A little quirky and unconventional, but this is definitely what makes this couple so unique. They were married by Miyoungs’s brother, who was eloquent and proud as he watched his little sister share her vows.
The reception was a true reflection of the couple’s cheerful personalities and love for fun. Escort cards were presented as potted plants and doubled as favors. Paper lanterns hung over the dance floor and the San Francisco skyline was the backdrop for the head table. Guests even had front row seats to the fireworks show across the bay. A few tears were shed and many laughs were shared as the bridal parties recounted their courtship and relationship which lead to this day.

As the dance floor opened, guests also feasted on a dessert buffet. The classics such as chocolate dipped strawberries and brownies were accompanied by traditional Korean desserts. Everything looked delicious!
Congratulations to Miyoung & Elmer!
