A Great Start to a Fabulously Coquettish Weekend!

Coquette Events has a big weekend coming up — we have a wedding in NY and a semi-surprise Mother’s Day event here in the Bay Area. (It’s a semi-surprise because the guests of honor know there’s an event, they just don’t know what they’re doing.) As we’re busy preparing for those events, we thought we’d leave you with a few fun tidbits:

• J. Crew’s Creative Director Jenna Lyons talks about her life, Michelle Obama and shows us her closet on Oprah.
• Do you know what the average cost of an engagement ring was in 2009?
• Ahhh, love affairs with luxury bags – who doesn’t have one? But what do you do when the fling is over and you’re ready to move onto a new one?
• Here are Glamour Magazine’s pick of the Top 10 wedding dresses from the Spring 2011 Bridal Week Fashion Shows.
  
• Word on the street is that Katie Holmes has been chosen to play Jackie O in a mini-series on the History Channel entitled The Kennedy’s. Greg Kinnear is slated to play JFK in the 8 hour series which will air next year. Click here to see how Katie has already been channeling the iconic Jackie O.
• Calling all crafty brides … Project Wedding launched their 2nd Annual DIY Wedding Challenge. Write an article on their site complete with instructions and at least one photo of your favorite DIY Wedding project(s) and you’ll be in the running. Submissions are due by May 3. The winner receives a $500 gift card.
